BEAS designed and developed this application in MVC framework to implement security measures in this application. Users from various offices working at various regions can login, scan the required newspaper pages and upload the same in the form of image or PDFs in cloud server. In fact, approx. 1.5 lakhs pages scanned, digitised and indexed in DMS. It generates a unique identification number of each image which can be used to find out any image or any version of newspaper for a specific date. System provides expanded view of any image or PDF and an advanced search option that helps users to search and download the required images pertaining to any date. System will provide the list of document number, date, description and thumbnail images. User would be able to click to view the image and download the actual image if required. System tracks all the information about the user who uploads the info.

  • Inbox: The Inbox was designed to hold all new contents (document/picture/video) which have been uploaded to the site. Items will remain in the Inbox until the user moves/removes the file.
  • Time Locked Content: Users will be able to store information that they want to share at later dates and time. The content can vary from special birthday messages, congratulations, anniversary messages etc.
  • Legal Documents: The goal was to store important legal documents such as a “will”, living will, trust, bank information etc. The content in the legal document folders was only be released upon presenting of a death certificate to Everlasting Testament. The work-flow to send notifications to beneficiaries of deceased persons could be pre-defined by the user.
  • Eulogy Presentation: The Eulogy presentation contains documents for his or her Eulogy. This presentation was made available to the family only after 80% of the recipients on the account have reported the account holder as deceased.
  • Add Recipient: With this option a user was be able to add new recipients/beneficiaries to his or her account

BEAS created the “notification solution” for mjunction based on the ‘Device ID’ of the customers. The source of the notification was from mjunction server (for the auction messages generated from the auction system) along with the provision for app-Admin to ‘push’ additional messages as and when required. This mobile solution also includes the features such as individual ‘login’ facility for each of their ‘service lines’, ‘work in offline mode’, display count of ‘unread’ messages, facilitate customers to ‘switch’ devices (e.g. from Android to IOS, etc.) with proper notifications, periodic message archival, etc.

Customers need to feed shipping address and pay for final order booked. Admin can view that order and assign a delivery boy to that order and the delivery boy captures signature of the customer as a confirmation of receipt, after the delivery is made. Customers are able to view their order history with all the details of delivery status. Admin is able to see the payments made by the customers and status of all the requested orders.

Mobile Application On Tracking Material Movement

Business Need

Requirement for the development of an android based application for a ‘Packing and Moving’ company (Australia based) to facilitate booking and tracking of consignments from one location to another along with the storage functionalities. The application covers the following distinct features:

  • Uploading of consignments from source location
  • XLOAD which is basically unloading of consignments in a hub / go-down
  • Move and deliver the consignment at the destination location

BEAS’s Solution

BEAS created the solution by generating and applying ‘bar codes’ on each consignments identified for packing. The trucker would use a bar code reader to scan the ‘bar codes’ while the consignment is getting uploaded on the truck. Once all the consignments are scanned and uploaded, the application would request for drivers details such as his vehicle number, name, signature, etc. and would generate the “uploaded” consignment list for the customer. The XLOAD functionality would validate the consignment at each of the intermediate transporter hubs/go-downs during the movement process. Finally, at the time of delivery, the apps would ensure the completeness, by re-scanning the consignment and marking the consignment as ‘delivered’ – along with customer’s approval signature. This application also has the option for ‘direct point-to-point delivery’ without the consignment moving through the hubs (without using XLOAD process).

A Streaming Music/Video facility

Business Need

An US based entertainment Company intended to create a facility where online users could avail free streaming music/video of their choice (taste, genre, period). Along with a web facility where users could listen/view on their PC; Android & IOS based free audio/video, streaming mobile applications were needed to be developed, with attractive promotions such as redeemable “Listener Rewards” that would automatically issue reward points to every registered user for every hour of their listening/view of music/video. Other complex marketing mechanisms were also to be incorporated to ensure a viral growth of the facilities’ popularity amongst listeners and their friends/associates. To further promote this facility organically, a Store was connected/affiliated to the facility to allow listeners/viewers to buy various items by redeeming the points acquired through listening to the music. The facility was to generate revenues from advertisements. Geo-fencing the facility for certain specific (licensed) countries was also a requirement

BEAS used its experience to design and develop an on-demand music/video streaming application that would run on Android & IOS with all the functionalities as was required by the customer for its promotion, marketing and revenue assurance. Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC)

Business Need

Kolkata Municipality Corporation, wanted to provide the citizens of Kolkata the advantage of being able to view information/status related to their taxes, licenses, rebates, representations and hearings, mutation and a host of other important information, for which the citizen would have had to visit various offices of KMC and wait on long queues. They wanted to provide citizens with mobile applications from which they could query on such information anytime and receive statuses and information. They invited BEAS to develop such an application on Android phones to start with.

BEAS’s Solution

This Android Mobile Application was developed by BEAS using a Scalable architecture and Buffer stream management to provide the required citizen services provided by KMC. The application can easily be downloaded on a citizen’s android mobile. Various services offered by the application can be accessed using Menu/Icon option. Once a citizen, identified by a unique id and password logs in, all relevant information related to that citizen can be queried and viewed. Currently the information that can be viewed are – Property Tax Due, Last Date of Rebate (PD Tax), Last Date of Rebate (F/S Tax), Hearing Date (Property Assessment), Mutation Status, Outstanding License Fees, Building Plan Status, Date of Hearing u/s 400(1) (Building), Heritage Building, Tanks, S.P.I.O. under R.T.I. and Appellate Authority under R.T.I. The engagement is ongoing and more and more information as decided by KMC is being made available through the apps.

This solution has greatly helped both KMC and the citizens. For the citizens it benefits in getting all important information without having to visit KMC offices and waiting on long queues. Requirements for functional enhancement, maintenance and support of their G-to-C Export / Import System for the Reserve Bank to enable them to effectively track and manage the exports out of the country and imports into the country.

Development of a Retail Point of Sale (POS) Application for a Beverage Group

Business Need

The objective of this engagement was to construct and deliver an e-commerce web application for a beverage company.

The business need of this application was to provide complete Retail e-commerce / POS application features for delivering alcoholic beverages with functionalities covering maintainence of Items (category wise), viewing details, adding to cart, modifing cart, maintaing wishlists, order booking, automatic store selections based on customer’s location, etc. The engagement also included a POS (Point of Sales) application for the STORES having the functionalities such as direct sales, servicing of online customers, invoice preparation, delivery, etc. BEAS was engaged in the full life-cycle of this project.

BEAS designed and developed this application in MVC framework to implement security measures in this application. Users from various stores working at various locations could login, create / update “stock” through requisition / GRN and could “sell the product” from POS (Point of Sales stores). To “manage stock inventory” on an ‘on going’ basis, users were provided with Day–to-Day sales register, Purchase register, Stock register, ABC Analysis, Ageing analysis reports, etc. The “Online Customers” were being serviced by approx. forty (40) stores (POS) and the database was organised and optimized to take care of such transaction volume. The “Online Customers’” location are detected automatically (with an option to select the ‘location’ manually also) by the application and products get displayed from the ‘Nearest Stores’ from the customer. The customer has the option to ‘search’ the product using different product parameters such as Category, Brand, bottle capacity, etc. The customer has the option to see the product details, addition to ‘cart’, addition to ‘wish list’, modification of the ‘number’ of the products (with a validation against the available inventory), check-out, payment and monitoring of the status of delivery. The “Invoice” gets generated from the POS’s and the stock is adjusted accordingly. Also, the application has the facility for ‘stock adjustment’ for the POS’s and ‘stock transfers between different POS’s.

Development of a Car Parking Application for Lambert Parking Solutions

Business Need

The business need for Lambert Car Parking Solution is to provide an innovative parking management solution that helps commuters find parking spaces within seconds from anywhere, in advance. The purpose here is to reduce the pain of vehicle owners caused while looking for parking spaces after reaching the destination. It even allows them to choose the space from the gamut of visible options from the parking spaces on the app. The app provides the users with available parking space data and is customized in a way that it allows you to book the space based on your vehicle size & specifications. This solution also looked for ‘Automation Number Plate Scanning’, integration to ‘Boom Barriers’ and ‘Printers’ and ‘Offline Mode Operation’ for the Attendants. BEAS designed and developed this application in MVC framework to implement security measures in this application. This Car Parking application solution is a subscription-based model for both the Corporates and the Private Agencies. The Administrator will be able to define the ‘Parking Lots’ with the Vehicle Types, Number of Vehicles and their revenue structures. Also, they need to attach a ‘Parking Charge Calculation’ engine which are flexible
for different parking usage. At the same time, this application also has the ‘Advance’ and ‘Pass’ facilities incorporated for some of the specific user communities. This application also integrates the ‘Boom Barrier’ sensors and have the facility to ‘Print’ the Entry / Exit tokens for the customers.

This solution also has a mobile application for the Parking Attendants to make the Entry / Exit of the Vehicles along with the calculation of the parking charge with the help of in-built ‘Calculation Engine’. The attendants will be able to view the allotment of Vehicles, number of vehicles, occupied slots, calculation model, etc. specific to their Parking Lots. The attendant has the option to ‘SCAN’ the car number plates to automatically capture the car number. The attendants have also the option to record the parking data in ‘Offline Mode’ in case the network is not available at a certain point in time with ‘Synchronization’ option whenever the network is up.

The mobile app for the Citizen provides the customers with a view of Parking Facilities available for their destination along with a detail of the ‘Available Slots’. The customers will have the option to get his Parking Details history once their Mobile Numbers are captured in the system. The customers have the option to go for “Advance” booking for a certain Period or to obtain a “Pass” with various periodicities.

Entities of various types working at various locations can do their login. They can create LG issuance request which is submitted to a central repository system. The system in turn forwards the request to respective banks after verification of the correctness of the request details. The bank acknowledges the receipt of the request and asynchronously approves the LG if the entity is legal, information provided the is valid and the entity has sufficient fund for generation of the electronic LG. An active LG can be further amended, confiscated or release through the system in due course. The Beneficiary can view the LG and act upon it as required.
